The Hunza valley is a sacred valley located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region, and world renowned  for its natural beauty. Steeped in historical and cultural significance, the valley is home to the Hunza people, who are believed to be descendants of Alexander the Great's army. Their language and customs have remained relatively unchanged for centuries.

Hunza Shilajit is collected in the majestic (western) Karakoram mountains. They are one of the world's most geologically active areas, at the boundary between two colliding continents. The Gilgit-Baltistan territory of the Karakoram is home to three of the world's longest glaciers outside of the polar regions, as well as K2 - the world’s second highest peak.

Distinctions: Appearance: Sheen, black with slight red hue. Hunza Shilajit is particularly tacky to the  touch.

Smell: Hunza Shilajit has a strong, pungent aroma. This distinct, funky aroma is due to its composition. It differs to other Shilajit due to the unique flora and fauna of the Karakoram mountains. The odour changes when dissolved in water, and becomes more bitumen-like.

Colour: Mid-Brown when dissolved. Hunza Shilajit dissolves much faster than Altai; it almost melts away.

Taste: Nothing like it smells. Tastes earthy, very much bitumen. Astringent.

Leaves very little residue/sediment - suggests multiple filtration and lower mineral/metal, and much lower humic acid content.

Unique Properties: Hunza Shilajit is purified using mineral rich glacial water, known as ‘Hunza water’. It is thought much of the longevity of the Hunza people is down to the water in the valley. There may be an element of myth here, but ‘Fountain of youth’ water was once considered important enough to warrant 30 years of reserach by "the father of fluid dynamics”, Dr. Patrick Flanagan.

Pure activated Hunza Shilajit resin. Hand harvested from the Karakoram range (Gilgit-Baltistan).

Take 250-500 mg daily. Always cycle the use of Shilajit. After 4-8 weeks of continued use, take a 4 weeks break.

Shilajit is best consumed by stirring into hot water/green tea or black coffee.

*The best way is to take a pea sized amount on a knife and stick it to the inside of a cup of green tea or black coffee. Stick it just below the water line and leave there for a couple of minutes, so it softens and begins to dissolve. Then, using the knife, gently rub back and forth against the side of the cup until it completely dissolves.

How to measure Shilajit:
100 mg = 1 rice grain
500 mg = 1 green pea

Not recommended if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
