Functional 4 - Mushroom Blend

 

Our 4 Mushroom blend uses sustainably cultivated Cordyceps, Lion’s Mane, Reishi, and also wild harvested Chaga. Extraction is carried out only when the mushrooms are considered in prime condition. For the Lion’s mane and Reishi, the Fruiting bodies are hand-harvested (making sure only the best are selected) and then either sun-dried or placed in a dehydrator. Prior to the actual extraction process, the mushrooms are tested for contaminants. Finally, extraction is carried out using both hot water (pure filtered) and alcohol (dual extraction) to ensure the broadest spectrum of active compounds possible are retained. The dual extract liquid is then spray-dried to produce a concentrated soluble powder. 

For this blend we use Cordyceps Sinensis CS-4 (mycelium), which is is a refined, standardised fermented product and the most studied of its kind. Studies show active components in CS-4 to include  adenosine, adenine, uracil, uridine, mannitol, β-sitosterol, oligosaccharides, polysaccharides, 18 common amino acids, zinc, potassium, manganese, phosphorus, selenium, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, and vitamin E.

The Chaga we use is sustainably harvested from the birch forests of Estonia, by a mycologist led native team. The same careful selection, drying, and testing is applied to both Cordyceps and Chaga pre-extraction. A dual extraction is also used to provide a full spectrum of actives, before being spray dried. 

Once we have spray-dried the four extracts into their powder form, they are carefully blended and then encapsulated. 

For quality purposes it’s important mushrooms are grown under the correct conditions; this ensures they don’t accumulate any harmful toxins. We only use mushrooms grown on real organic substrates, in the wild or on logs, not in a lab or a mega warehouse.
