Overview

This Chaga extract is designed around the conk itself.

Chaga is very different from a conventional cap-and-stem mushroom. It forms as a dense, dark conk on trees, particularly birch, and this is the material traditionally associated with Chaga preparations.

Rather than simply grinding dried Chaga and putting it into capsules, this product combines two extract fractions: a 1:1 Chaga extract and a more concentrated 8:1 dual extract.

Each capsule provides 400 mg of the finished Chaga extract.

Background

Chaga has a long history of traditional use across northern regions, particularly Siberia, Russia and parts of Northern Europe.

It grows slowly on trees, most famously birch, forming a hard and irregular conk with an almost charcoal-like outer appearance.

If you already know our Wild Harvested Chaga, you’ll know that we’ve offered Chaga in its more traditional dried form for some time.

These capsules take a different approach.

Our dried Chaga is raw material intended for brewing. This product is an extract, produced to provide a measured and consistent capsule format.

We see the two as different ways to explore the same fascinating fungus rather than one replacing the other.

As with the rest of our mushroom range, we’ve focused on identity, extraction and verification rather than simply putting a mushroom name on the front of a bottle.
