FAQs

What part of Chaga is used in these capsules?

Our Chaga extract is made from the conk of Inonotus obliquus.

The Chaga conk is the hard, dark growth traditionally harvested from birch trees. It isn’t a conventional mushroom fruiting body.

Is this the same as dried Chaga?

No.

Dried Chaga is the original conk material that has been dried and cut or ground for preparation in hot water.

These capsules contain a pre-extracted Chaga preparation, so the extraction process has already taken place before the material is encapsulated.

How is the Chaga extract made?

The finished ingredient combines 50% 1:1 extract powder with 50% 8:1 dual extract powder.

The concentrated fraction uses both hot water and alcohol during extraction.

What does the 4:1 Chaga extract ratio mean?

The supplier describes the finished blended extract as 4:1.

An extract ratio describes the relationship between starting material and finished extract. It doesn’t mean the product is four times stronger or that every Chaga constituent has been concentrated fourfold.

How much glucan and polysaccharide does the Chaga contain?

Current batch analytical data report:

Glucans: 8.72%

Polysaccharides: 14.71%

Betulin: 0.43%

We describe the first figure as glucans, rather than beta-glucans, because that is how the current analytical result is reported.

What compounds are tested in the Chaga extract?

Available analytical profiling includes adenosine, betulinic acid, D-mannitol, ergosterol and inotodiol.

The testing documentation also includes glucans, polysaccharides, betulin, microbiology and heavy metals.

How should I take Chaga capsules?

Take 2 capsules daily with a glass of water, or as directed by a healthcare professional. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.

Who should be cautious about taking Chaga?

Chaga may not be suitable for everyone.

If you have kidney disease, a history of kidney stones or have been advised to follow a low-oxalate diet, speak to a healthcare professional before use. The same applies if you take medication or are under medical supervision.

The product isn’t intended for children and isn’t recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
